About the Rotary Club Berlin International (i.Gr.)

Our Vision

Every member of Rotary stands for high ethical standards and excellence in leadership. Being Berlins only international Rotary Club, we promote these values among our expatriate and local members. United under the principle Service above Self, we want to put the qualities of our diverse membership to service for the local and for the global community.

Bringing together people from all over the world, we promote mutual understanding accross cultural lines. We want to see people share in Rotarian friendship despite possible differences their countries of origin may have elsewhere.

As a group, we are tolerant of each other's race, ethnicity, religion, gender or sexual orientation. What we are looking for in our members are determination and high quality in their professional life. Members have to be willing to apply the following four questions to whatever they do:
  1. Is it the TRUTH?
  2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
  3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
  4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

Our Members ...

... come from different walks of life. With an average age of about 35 years, we are one of the youngest Rotary Clubs in town. All of us are full-time professionals in various fields who are committed to the vision above. In our projects, we try to contribute with the means that are given to us. Thus, the success of our club is rooted in the synergetic work of our members.

At this point, we have 21 members representing nine nations: Argentina, Australia, Canada, India, Poland, Spain, Turkey, the United States of America, and Germany.

What is Rotary?

What would it take to change the world? Rotary International is the world's first service club organization, with more than 1.2 million members in 33,000 clubs worldwide. Rotary club members are volunteers who work locally, regionally, and internationally to combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, provide education and job training, promote peace, and eradicate polio under the motto Service Above Self.
